Temporary Event Power
Whether you are holding an intimate family gathering in a small marquee at the back of the house or holding a large-scale music festival in a field, you will most likely require a temporary power supply for lighting and/or music.
At OCM, we are able to provide a range of temporary power solutions, from an extension of your household electrics to a large multi-generator installation. We will work with you to understand your requirements and to present a solution that is safe, reliable and cost-effective.
Whilst we carefully plan each aspect of the power distribution network for your event, we are unable to guarantee the weather! It is important to remember that if your event is taking place outside, you will need to use appropriately-rated cable to keep the electricity away from any rain!
We will work to create a system design which also keeps the cables tidy and as out of the way as possible. Using cable ramps or running cable along elevated routes are a couple of the ways in which we can do this.
We will supply the power to your event primarily using CEE Form connectors which are waterproof to a minimum of IP44. We will also provide the appropriate adaptors within your marquee or venue to allow you to connect a normal 13A plug as you would do at home.
We can also supply dedicated heavy power cables such as those required for a temporary kitchen.
Not every event will have access to a mains power supply, and even in cases that do, the supply may not be powerful enough to handle the additional demand of the event.
In this case, we can create a temporary power supply using generators. We will work with you to design a system that uses the correct number and size of units to ensure fuel economy and cost-efficiency.
We may suggest the use of a secondary backup generator in remote locations where total loss of power would be catastrophic. When this is supplied, we will also install automatic failover devices to ensure power is restored with minimal disruption.
Your event may be spread over a wide area, and using our extensive supply of cable and power distribution systems, we can work with you to design an installation that gives you exactly the right amount of power to the locations you need it. We ensure we do this in a discreet way without having to use excessive unsightly extension leads in the visible parts of the event.
As part of the event planning, we are happy to work with your other suppliers to establish their power requirements. By doing this, we will be able to install a system that ensures everyone can plug in without overloading or tripping the system.
